Scientific & Logical errors in Vedas, Geetha & Mahabarath!!!

The purpose of my presentation on ‘veda and science’ is not to hurt any hindus’s feeling. If while presenting, if I hurt your feelings, I do apologize in advance. The purpose is only to point out, that a God’s Revelation cannot contain scientific errors. There are uncountable errors in vedas, only few are mentioned here :
Hindu Scriptures of India, in the following quote. This shows them to be very unscientific, hence disproving Eastern religions and modern New Age thinking which are based on the Vedas.

1-The moon is 50,000 leagues higher than the sun.
2- Moon shines by its own light.
3- night is caused by the sun's setting behind a huge mountain.
4- several thousand feet high, sun located in the centre of the earth.
5- that this world, flat and triangular.
6- world is composed of 7 states one of honey, another of sugar, a third of butter, and still another of wine,
7- the whole mass is borne on the heads of countless elephants, which in shaking produce earthquakes."

As you can see, there are at least seven clear scientific errors in this short passage of the Vedas.
FEW SCIENTIFIC ERRORS IN HINDU SCRIPTURES

1.“He who fixed firm the earth that staggered, and set at rest the agitated mountains, who measured out the air's wide middle region and gave the heaven support, he men is Indra.” Rig Ved: 2: 12: 2. We all know today that the earth revolves and rotates and is not fixed.

2.“In the beginning rose Hiranyagarbha, born only Lord of all created beings. He fixed and holds up the earth and the heaven.” Rig Ved: 10: 121: 1. We all know today that the earth revolves and rotates and is not fixed.

3.“Firm is the sky and firm is the earth and steadfast are also these hills. Steadfast is all this living world.....” Rig Ved: 10: 173: 4

4.“The Bull has supported the sky.” Yajur Ved: 4: 30

5.“God has firmly fixed the earth with pegs around it.” Yajur Ved: 5: 16

6.“ North West of the heavens.” Yajur Ved: 13: 56, 57

7.“The Bull has supported the sky.” Yajur Ved: 14:5

8. Arjun says to Krishna ,“The sun and moon are your eyes.” Bhagvad Gita: 11: 19
It is mentioned in Ayodhya Khandam, verses 20,26 and 94 that when Rama was sent for Banavas he told his mother that he would have to sacrifice his tasty meat dishes. If Rama had to sacrifice his tasty meat dishes it meant that Rama had likeness for meat. If Rama can have meat, why can’t the Hindus have meat?

1. Vedas say Earth is static!

According to Vedas, the earth is static and this statement is repeated

several times. The following are some of the examples:

Oh Man ! He who made the trembling earth static is Indra. (Rig Ved

2/12/12)

The God who made the earth stable (Yajur Ved 32/6)

Indra protects the wide earth which is immovable and has many forms

(Atarv Ved 12/1/11)

Let us walk on the Wide and Static earth (Atharv Ved 12/1/17)

2

2. Vedas say Sun moves around the earth on a golden

chariot with his 7 horses

As the Veds Claim that the earth is static and so they tried to prove that the

sun moves around the earth. The following statement from the rig Ved tries

to clarify it:

1. "Sun is full of light and knows all the human beings, so his horses take

him to sky to look at the world" (Rig Ved 1/50/1)

2. "O, Bright sun, a chariot named harit with seven horses takes you to sky"

(Rig Ved 1/50/8)

3. "O, man, the sun who is most attractive, takes round of the earth, on his

golden chariot through the sky and removes the darkness of the earth"

(Yajur Ved 33/43)

3. Vedas say The Bull has supported the Sky

“The Bull has supported the sky.” Yajur Ved: 4: 30

“The Bull has supported the sky.” Yajur Ved: 14:5

4. Puranas say Earth is Flat

NARASINGA PURANA - Page 169 - Abithana Sinthamani - says that the earth

is flat. Today it has been proved beyond doubt by the scientists that the

earth is round.

5. Vishnu Purana - another astrological error

VISHNU PURANA says that sun is 800,000 miles and moon is 2,200,000

miles away from the earth respectively. Astronomy has now proved that the

moon is nearer to the earth, i.e. 240,000 miles and that the sun is

93,000,000 miles away from the earth.

3

6. Markandeya Purana - gives completely wrong area

of the earth

MARKANDEYA PURANA says that the earth has an area of 4,000,000,000

square miles. According to astronomy, it is only 190,700,000 square miles.

7. Vedas / Puranas recommend looking directly into

the sun with naked eye

The Vedas and Puranas say that all Hindus must pray to the sun god SURYA,

and that if you look at the sun daily every morning with your naked eyes,

your sight will improve. Accordingly many Hindus practise this act of

worship; but instead of their eyesight improving, India is the country that

has the most blind people in the world (2.5 million blind people and 9

million with corneal blindness). There is no scientific truth in sun worship,

and on the contrary the scientist and doctors advise everyone not to look at

the sun directly with the naked eye. Who is telling us the truth, the

Scientists or the Hindu scriptures? You be the judge!

8. Vedas say cow is holy and should be worshipped.

(Brahmins add that cow dung ash has medicinal

value)

The Vedas say that the cow is holy and should be worshipped. These

Brahmins also claim that cow dung ash has medicinal value. Samples sent to

a leading test laboratory in West Germany have proved this to be untrue.

9. Mt. Meru 100,000 times higher than Mt. Everest

according to the Hindu Scriptures

Arya texts of a comparatively late period ( 5 century AD ) still maintain a

belief in the fictional Vedic Mt. Meru. It is supposed to be one hundred

thousand times higher than Mt. Everest! Regarding this mountain, the

Matsya Purana says,

4

"It [Mt Meru] is golden and shining like fire. The colour of the eastern side

is white like the colour of Brahmans, that of the northern side is red like the

that of Kshatriyas, the southern is yellow like that of Vaishyas, the western

is black like the colour of Sudras. It is 86000 yojana high, and 16000 of

these lie in the earth. Each of the 4 sids has 34000 yojanas ... There are

beautiful golden houses inhabited by spiritual beings, the Devas, by the

singers the Gandharvas and their harlots the Apsaras. Also Asuas, Daityas

and Rakshasas are living in it. " -- [ Matsya Pur. quoted in al-B. i.247 ]

In general, 1 yojana = 8 miles = 32000 yards and 1 kroh = 1/2 yojana [ al-

B i.167 ]. Thus Mt. Meru would be 8x86,000 = 704,000 miles high. Mt.

Everest, by comparison, is only 29,000 ft., or less than 6 miles, high. Hence

Mt. Meru is 100,000 times higher than Mt. Everest !

The Kurma Purana has this to say on this topic,

" Earth, composed of seven continents, together with the oceans extends

500,000,000 yojanas across. Holy Jambudvipa lies in the middle of all the

continents; in its center is said to be lofty Mt. Meru, bright as gold. Its

height is 84,000 yojanas, and it extends 16,000 yojanas below the earth; its

width at the top is 32,000 yojanas, and its diameter at the base is 16,000

yojanas."

-- [ Kurma Purana, quoted in Classical, p. 52 ]

The impossibly high Mt. Meru is held to be the source of really existing

rivers in India such as the Sita.

Illogical Aspect (Errors And Contradictions):

In our opinion, God has the absolute knowledge. When He speaks of some thing, he speaks in absolute terms. He would not resort to meek suggestion/opinions. He is clear, emphatic and confident! But, what we see in the Gita is …

Gita 2:25 Krishna says to Arjuna, “It is said that it (the soul) is unmanifest. This (the soul) is inconceivable; this is unchangeable… ”

Gita 6:36 Krishna says to Arjuna, “My conviction is that Yoga is difficult to be attained by one of uncontrolled mind…” and at many more places like Gita 13:12 etc. Krishna (supposed to be a god) says to Arjuna that ‘it is his opinion only’!

As we all know today that the sun, moon and stars are all inanimate objects and cannot have wife and children like the human beings. But, in the olden days, the Hindu brothers did not know this fact and they used to hold the belief that these are all gods only. Further, they used to believe that they had marital relationship and parental relationship with human beings. Anyway, we are going to see it in detail under the heading, “Hindu Gods”. Here, we are going to have a look at the sample, which proves beyond doubt that even the Bhagavad Gita is not immune from this belief!

It is mentioned in Gita 4:1, “I have given this infinite knowledge to Sun, he taught it to his son Manu (one of the ancestors of the mankind) and he taught it to his son Ikshwaka (one of famous saints)”

It is surprising to see that the Gita attributes sonship of a human to a star that is ‘the sun’.

Some scholars of Hinduism hold that the Gita doesn’t say that Manu was a son of the sun. But, they all admit that the Gita mentions the sun having taught a particular knowledge to Manu. Even this is hard to defend against scientific criticism.

Unscientific points in the Gita.

It was widely believed by the Hindus of older days that the earth is flat. And there is a mountain by the name ‘Meru Parvata’ which, surrounds the earth from all sides. The sun circumambulates around that mount. Thus completing its rotation around the earth. And that mountain ‘Meru’ is supposed to be the biggest mountain in the world.

It is mentioned in the Gita that the main speaker (supposed to be Krishna) is giving all the possible superlative examples to express his greatness. One among them goes as follows…

Gita 10:23 “Of all the Rudras I am the Lord Shiva, of the Yakshas and Rakshasas, I am the Lord of wealth (Kubera {remember, the lender to god Venkateswara}), of the Vasus, I am fire (Agni), and of mountains, I am Meru.” As a matter of fact, Meru is a hypothetical mountain, which doesn’t exist. If Krishna was god or if the Gita was a word of god, how came, this mistake has crept in?

Further, there was an unscientific belief among the Hindus, which we want to expose directly with an example. In Chapter 10 Krishna commits a mistake while boasting about himself with all possible superlative expressions.

Please go through Gita 10: 31, “Of purifiers, I am the wind; Rama of the warriors I; and I am Makara (crocodile) of fishes; of streams, Ganga I am.”

No wonder, the unscientific community did not know in those days that, Makara (crocodile) is not a fish but a reptile. Even if we give lenience to the classification that all the creatures living in water are fish only, none of them will be called as a reptile. Still, the crocodile is neither the largest of the fish nor is it the most ferocious. As a matter of fact, it makes us feel that the author of the Gita has never sailed across the ocean. Otherwise, he is bound to know about the other ferocious, powerful and large fishes. The reason behind assuming the absence of such exposure to sailing is one of the basic beliefs in Hinduism that, ‘The man who crosses the sea will become outcaste!

In fact, some scholars opine that Rama (the hero god of Ramaayana) opted to build a bridge to Lanka to fight with Raavana (the kidnapper of his wife), instead of sailing across! (Please wait for Rama’s Character Certificate to throw some good light on this guy Rama.)

Error no.10:

As we have already seen under the article ‘beliefs’, the Hindus believe that the moon is the husband of all the stars. They fail to realize the reality in comparison. Here, in the Gita, we find Krishna boasting about himself, saying…

Gita 10:21 “Of Adityas, I am Vishnu, of lights I am the radiant sun, of the Maruts, I am Marici, and among the stars, I am moon.” The ancient Hindus fail to realize the fact that, the moon, no doubt appears to be very big from the earth, but, it remains just a satellite. It is much smaller than the earth also. Further, the earth itself is very small in comparison to the sun about 400 times, roughly. Then, the sun is just a mediocre star. Then, logically, saying, ‘I am moon among the stars’ is like saying, ‘I am ant among elephants!’

ONLY ONE MISTAKE IS ENOUGH TO PROVE THAT VEDA IS NOT A BOOK OF GOD !!

U hve done a very good job which can open the eyes of the blind believers who believe their relegion just becoz their anscestors use to believe that relegion, now the present generation has changed now they r investigating each and every thing before they follow it. i hope after coming through these errors from Vedas they definatly search for the true religion which is Islam offcourse. I challenge if anybody can take out one mistake from the Holy Quran.

  2. To understand the hindu religion in better way you should learn it from some well known guru or aacharya. It is not possible for a lay man like you to understand it's deep philosophy.

  3. Lets start: ADMIN GOOD JOKE LOL
    1. Vedas say Earth is static!
    a. Jihadi Claim:
According to Vedas, the earth is static and this statement is repeated several times. The following are some of the examples:
Oh Man ! He who made the trembling earth static is Indra. (Rig Ved 2/12/12)

    Agniveer:
Actual translation: He who ensures that the sun with seven color bands that shines, the clouds that rain, air that circulates, water bodies that nourish us -  all work in harmony to provide us life and vitality has been managed by Indra or the Ishwar who provides prosperity.
There is nothing about static earth in this mantra.
    b. Jihadi Claim:
The God who made the earth stable (Yajur Ved 32/6)
    Agniveer:
Unfortunately the scientist who wrote this could not distinguish between stable and static. Anything that moves or stays in equilibrium as per defined laws is stable and when there is an element of randomness or unpredictability it becomes unstable.Stability DOES NOT mean lack of motion.
By the way, this is a celebrated Mantra recited by Hindus daily and means: May we surrender all our actions and thoughts only to Him who has stabilized the sun and other illuminating bodies, the earth, the heavenly bodies and the entire universe solely for our happiness and who provides us ultimate bliss after Mukti or salvation.
Very clearly the mantra says that all heavenly bodies are stable include sun. Thus even by wildest stretch of “Heavenly”imagination one cannot bring such a ridiculous meaning to this mantra that implies earth as being static.
    c. Jihadi Claim:
Indra protects the wide earth which is immovable and has many forms (Atharv Ved 12/1/11)
    Agniveer:
This is the mantra from the famous Bhumi Sukta which forms the origin of the sense of love that patriots demonstrate for Dharti Mata. When one reads this Sukta today considering how our freedom fighters would die for this soil and often carrying this soil in hand till last breath, one cannot help getting his eyes wet with sense of gratitude towards those great legends whose debts we have to repay through our deeds.
The particular mantra means: O Earth, you provide me with great snow-capped mountains and hills, forests, farms, food, herbs and rains so that I am always happy, protected and nurtured. You provide me the support I need to live like a king. The next mantra continues – You are my mother, O Earth, and I am your son. You purify us and may we be able to repay your blessings through our noble actions.
What could be a better thought on love for mother earth! But perhaps patriotism and allegiance to soil is alien to Jihadi mindsets. That is why this is so unscientific for them!
    d. Jihadi Claim:
Let us walk on the Wide and Static earth (Atharv Ved 12/1/17)
    Agniveer:
Actual meaning: “May we travel all around the earth that provides us prosperity, nutrition, medicines and supports us in a variety of ways.
The foolish Jihadi just saw the word “Dhruva” and started imagining silly things. “Dhruva” means something that provides reliable support.
On contrary there are several mantras in Vedas that clearly discuss the movement of earth. Some examples:

  4. @Admin you'd have also post this.
    Lol.
    Rig Veda 10.22.14
“This earth is devoid of hands and legs, yet it moves ahead. All the objects over the earth also move with it. It moves around the sun.
    Rig Veda 10.149.1
“The sun has tied Earth and other planets through attraction and moves them around itself as if a trainer moves newly trained horses around itself holding their reins.”

    Yajur Veda 33.43
“The sun moves in its own orbit in space taking along with itself the mortal bodies like earth through force of attraction.”

    Rig Veda 1.35.9
“The sun moves in its own orbit but holding earth and other heavenly bodies in a manner that they do not collide with each other through force of attraction.

    Rig Veda 1.164.13
“Sun moves in its orbit which itself is moving. Earth and other bodies move around sun due to force of attraction, because sun is heavier than them.
